A report which suggested that West Ham Hammer of the year Declan Rice has asked for a move has been strongly denied by the club this afternoon.
Sports journalist Duncan Castles who write for the Sunday Times and Daily Record claimed Rice had asked for a Chelsea move.
Rice is on three weeks holiday like the rest of the West Ham first-team squad after the end of the Premier League season on Sunday.
A club insider rejected the journalist false claims saying no transfer request or request to move had been received from the 21-year-old defensive midfielder. The club has not received a bid or an enquiry and the manager and the board are determined to keep him this summer.
David Moyes has already told reporters two days ago that Rice is under contract and he expects to see him again in three weeks time for pre-season training
The 57-year-old said that was bound to receive media attention over the Summer because it is such a good player but repeated he is not going anywhere unless a Bank of England vans turns up with £100 million inside.
🙏 please stay Declan and grow with the team, the fans and club love you we could build a team around him . We should resist the offers ! COYI ⚒
Why are journalists allowed to write rubbish and untruths ? . Be careful though because some clubs are capable of splashing out 6,000,000 .
I meant 100,000,000 . 🤦
Make Declan captain ASAP – and make him an offer that is difficult to refuse in addition to an immediate contract extension.
In order to build a quality playing unit we must have quality at the heart of it to start with.
In addition, David Moyes must have total freedom to choose who stays and who goes without meddling from above.
