Devastating Fabianski update

CandH Exclusive

West Ham have been hit by the devastating news that  Lukasz Fabianski could be sidelined for up to three months with a tear to his thigh muscle.

The horrific news came after the Hammer of last season underwent a scan on what was thought to be only a minor injury.

It was thought he had suffered a strain which would have kept him out for a maximum of three weeks and with the international break looming after this weekend, that would have been something of a result.

But in fact the issue was far worse than anyone could have believed when the scan results emerged and he could now be sidelined until December.

ClaretandHugh learned this morning that the scan showed a tear in the thigh muscle although it is not clear at this stage whether the Polish international will need an operation.

However, whether he does or not, he is certainly out of action for an extended period as the Hammers continue their pursuit of a top four place and Roberto will be taking over.

It’s a galling and ironic scenario that Adrian – despite being offered an improved deal as No 2 at the club and who has since been performing well for Liverpool – decided to move on given Fab’s outstanding form.

CandH sends the Hammers top man all the very best for a quicker than expected recovery.

    Gutted for the man.
This has the potential to re- define our season.
I hope Roberto steps up to the plate and shows us all what MP sees in him.

Need to sign a new keeper asap as Roberto has not yet showed any signs that he is Premiership class.

    Gutted!!
    Speedy recovery Fab.

I hope that the initial nerves are just that. Adrian showed this in his early games.for Liverpool when he first came in but is growing in confidence. If we’re in the top 6 come Fab’s return then Roberto will of done his job. But it lloks like we are going to have to score more goals.

  • Tp says:

We have David Martin and if needed we could recall the young lad at afc Wimbledon, Nathan Trott if Roberto doesn’t step up
