The Hammers are being linked with yet another new name as the summer transfer window warms up.
The Mirror claim that we are now looking at Mexico and Benfica marksman Raul Jimenez who is also reportedly a target for Liverpool.
According to this morning’s report the Irons have a long-standing interest in the 26 year old £19million-rated striker and say that his club are now ready to listen to offer
Jimenez has been in action for Mexico at the Confederations Cup, scoring in Mexico’s 2-1 win over New Zealand but was sent off against Portugal in the third place play-off defeat.
He moved to Benfica from Atletico Madrid two years ago, after complications prevented in a potential move to east London. ed 11 goals in all competitions for his club last season and has 12 goals from his 54 international caps.
If it’s either/or, it must be Hernandez.
Having said that, both for approx £32m would be a great deal, bearing in mind how well they should know each other’s game.
Sounds good to me as long as there is any substance in the reports. I agree Hernandes is the best bet, and if they can get both for reasonable money it would tick all the boxes, but with so many clubs after the best strikers, I wonder how many would want to come to us.
I’ve convinced myself that he is already negotiating with Liverpool, so that I don’t get disappointed and cry.
He already crapped on us once, so i don’t hold my breath.
The press are spreading their wings wider and wider. When will we read about an Armenian or Azerbaijani hot shot lol
I agree with Marko. I like Jimenez at 6’3″ he has a dominating physique but not a prolific goal scorer. 11 goals past season. And for the fee they want around £40m we could get 2 good strikers.
Of the 2 Mexican Nationals Chicarito is the best choice before even looking at fee.
I was wondering were you got that £32m for both which would be great. But £19m is what they paid Atletico for him and £13m is Chic’s release clause. But Benfica want 45m euros for him which is mad
