Hammers ‘great’ Dimi “happily settled”

|

PayetDavid Gold has taken a hefty sideswipe at France boss Didier Deschamps declaring: “You don’t take a player off because he has a quiet 20 minutes – that’s just wrong.

The French boss took he West Ham hero Dimi Payet off in the Euro 2016 Final and saw his team slump to defet even with Cristiano Ronaldo off the field.

DG  had tweeted earlier in the day that the French manager had given the Portuguese their chance by taking the Hammers hero off in the second half.

But in an exclsuive interview with ClaretandHugh he added: ” It’s a bit like taking Lionel Messi off for the same reason -you just don’t do it.”

And Gold  made it clear he’s confident that Payet will remain at West Ham and declared: “He is the greatest player to arrive at this club in many years.

“He has now been acclaimed as one of the best in Europe and that’s a tremendous honour not only for him but also for this club.

“We have gone all the way in making him as happy as we possibly can with a great contract – there have been no offers from anywhere and I believe he will stay here.

“He has an amazing relationship with the manager. The chemistry is perfect. He and his family are settled in London and he is really looking forward to life at the Olympic Stadium.

“He is a very nice man – a perfect gentleman and I believe he has everything here he has ever wished for. I am confident he will stay at this club.”

This is what happens when you have 2 fans for chairman lol , they are as enthusiastic about our club as all us diehards , so its easy for them to say something for it to be twisted round into a good story …..

    Will you stop ****ing moaning!!
    He said nothing wrong!!!

“The super clubs would come after a player of his ability,” Gold said. “And of course we wouldn’t even listen to any offer under £50m, and even then, as I said, we need to keep our best players.

“To be absolutely honest with you, we just don’t welcome any offers at all for Dimitri.

“He is instrumental, he’s important to us, the team is built ’round him. I would say to you he’s not for sale.
    .

Meanwhile Man U are circling around Reece Oxford according to the Daily Mail. Mourinho wants to start bidding at 10 million pounds.I can live with Tompkins going but not Oxford.

I tend to agree with the way David Gold views about the current strong ties that Payet has at West Ham; of course he should be happy!. However, would a doubling of his weekly wages (plus CL play & bonuses) make him even happier at Real or somewhere else?
However, I tend to support Gold’s feelings about him staying ; there is something very decent and endearing about Payet, which makes him an exception to other guys who can’t see past money!
