Hammers make €25m bid for striker

MysteryWest Ham have made a new €25m bid for an unnamed striker last night and the board await an answer from his parent club this morning.

The name of the player isn’t being released until the deal is successful to avoid alerting other clubs into making late bids.

Last week the Hammers failed with €25m bids for Cologne’s Anthony Modeste and Villarreal’s Cedric Bakambu. They have since discontinued their interest in the pair when they were quoted ridiculous prices which in the case of Modeste was €40m for a 29-year-old.

A senior source told Claret and Hugh: “We are trying to sign players. It’s a very difficult market. We put in another 25m euro bid tonight.”

So if we’ve offered 25 million euros that obviously means he’s not from the premier league, so my bets on probably max kruse or someone like that not getting my hopes up to much with this one

  • deefers says:

    Your sources, who are they?
Every other club seems to be buying apart from us.
We are selling players, but prices are different to
    sky news.
I think “the press”are making it all up.
Don’t say anything until the transfer is
    confirmed by the club!!!!!!!!!

  • John says:

From that image I can conclude that he is minging, his legs have gone and that he is another clubs useless reject. Sullivan has bid £25M but he is worth £30M because Sullivan doesn’t really want to spend money and thus Everton will buy him. Also it is probably Carlton Cole. Finally Sullivan’s negotiating skills are crap so he will offering the player half the wages he wants. We will end up buying no one and Andy Carroll will be our main striker next season (and stand in 3rd goalkeeper) For the record the club is skint. I’m happy to clear this up as Sean’s article below on the transfer budget is clearly fake news. If we all think this way we will not be disappointed.

Im sure some fans get sent on to our sites on the orders of their missus to vent so they dont take their grumpiness out on her lol

      • John says:

Lol Stan I think Wetlands is prescribed by some marriage support groups. There you go Mr Angry sit at this computer for 2 hours and vent your anger while your wife has a pedicure next door and please no hitting the walls.

I know it is an education to me how popular that therapy is Stan and John, whatever I might think of the content in the replies Iain clearly knows his target audience because the articles I have read they mostly have 100’s of replies.

I just hope Mr Dales bum is less squeaky today No.32 😂😂

          • Ben says:

There might be hundreds of replies but its only the same dozen or so repeating themselves all the time

  • essexirons says:

Ffs what is it that you lot want?
Moaning that we haven’t signed anyone & still moaning when we put an offer in.. if there is another way of buying new players plz feel free to explain. There I am thinking if you like a player you put in a offer.. But as it is only €25m he must a useless reject so maybe we shouldn’t bother.

  • Ben says:

Correct me if im wrong but we still have debts to pay off and still have pay day loans we used/use.One season at the new gaff was not going to clear all debts.
Do some of you want a continual cycle of debt or how about this for an idea,we get the club on a sound financial footing with little to no debt.
There is a bigger picture than transfer money though there seems to be a belief all monies go to transfer budgets. Its total and utter ****.

    • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

There should be 43 million income from the sale of UP that should make a sizeable dent in the debt, its a fair point though Ben.

    • John says:

I’m from the school of Radia where I don’t worry about stuff like that. I also believe nothing till the new guy is wearing the shirt. Even then I check for photoshopping! I do believe what Sean says below, we WILL spend between £60/80M and hopefully we will get lucky and get good players in that will make us top 6 challengers. The owners are very smart business men, despite what the moaners say, and they will make sure the company accounts are where they need to be at the end of the year. Worrying about anything else is futile. I have faith that our squad will be a strong one by the end of august. Right I’m done, see ya things to see people to do.

  • danielson79 says:

I agree John and I always say when I see the man in the shirt, I’ll believe hes signed.

  • GW says:

We don’t need anyone save the money the long haired unplayable Poppodom has returned to training donned in a super hero cape ready to single handily save us from oblivion😀😀😀

  • James says:

Is it just me or does it seem like every season his and his goals alone keep us up…its all i read from some when talking about Carroll Lol

  • mooro66uk says:

No John. The board ain’t got a scooby. Ogbonna,Cresswell,Obiang,Byram,Reid,Kouyate,Fernandez,Antonio,Payet,Lanzini all useless signings. But lets all dwell on the few who didn’t work out last year eh? Don’t some so called fans make ya chuckle?

  • Stan The Man says:

I have learnt to give no time to the rant and ragers.I prefer to have a reasoned conversation with Hammers fans down my local who can talk things through sensibly without wanting to burst a blood vessel over gossip and things they make up lol

    • GW says:

What a load of bollox 😀😀😀 What do the ones in the pub know compared to all the wanabee billionaires, managers and YouTube talent scouts that exist on the internet 😂😂
