|

Jack Wilshere’s injury misery looks set to continue after he has suffered a new setback in his recovery from surgery.

The midfielder last appeared in a Hammers shirt on September 1 in the 1-0 defeat by Wolves when it was discovered trhat a screw from previous surgery had worked its way loose in his ankle.

He was expected to be off for six weeks which could have seen him returning this weekend for the game against Spurs but the injury plagued midfielder is now set to sit on the sidelines for a while longer.

Manuel Pellegrini said: “Jack felt some pain the last two days so he needs more time to recover after some inflammation, common with these injuries appeared.

Meanwhile he explained that Andy Carroll started working as part of the warm up with the whole squad so we will see in the next week how he improves.

He added: “I hope that maximum 15 days he will at least working with the squad, completely.”
