Hammers race to save Benrahma signing

|

West Ham are currently trying to put a one year loan deal together with an option to make Brentford playmaker Said Benrahma’s stay at the club permanent should they succeed.

The 25 year old failed his medical today with after issues arose with his blood test results.

Now the Hammers are understood to have put in a deal sheet in to the League as time runs out and have until 7pm to get an arrangement in place.

The Hammers will almost certainly be in the driving seat on a loan fee for should the player go back to south west London in the current circumstances, his value will plummet in the game.

We are  likely pay in the region of £2 million to £3 million  as a loan fee and take the player until next summer when it would be hoped the medical issues would be sorted out.

The two clubs had arranged a £30 million deal before the medical which lasted over two days with the problems arising today.

and so another window close without us signing any of our targets.

Is the season-long loan subject to an obligation on the part of West Ham to buy Benrahma for £30m (as per the outright transfer) at the end it? If so, why should we have to pay a loan fee on top?

I think we’re all tired of the rumours and conspiracy theories now. I think I’ll just wait to here what’s happening or happened from an official source.

Loan deal helps with Brentford tax avoidance. Just sensible business.

What a disgraceful club West Ham are. They negotiate a Transfer Fee with Brentford, agree terms with Benharama and then ‘ Renegotiate’ on the basis of a fake Medical Claim in the knowledge that having offered the player a deal, he would press Brentford to come to ‘an arrangement’ in respect of his transfer and in the knowledge that Brentford would not try to keep an unhappy player. I just hope Benhrama will come to realise what a cheap club West Ham is, run by a bunch of ‘spiv’s. Booby Moore would be turning in his grave at such shenanigans.
nb. To all West Ham fans, please continue your best efforts to rid the Club of these ‘spivs’.

    • Be careful what you claim! Fake medical claim?

If the failed medical was faked then Brentford would probably mention this.
Signing a player on loan to check his failure is not something serious is sensible. Would you prefer they just risked 24m?
Who cares anyway, I want the best possible result and value for West Ham, don’t care about Brentford or any other club, I support the Irons
Fair play to the Chairman, this is a nice and expensive transfer and has got me excited. Not many teams have got a player to look forward to as much, this window

So what happens to the rest of the money 🤔

At least we got him. Can’t put the blame on the owners for this.Would have been livid if nothing had been done at all. Can’t wait for the Spuds ⚒⚒⚒

Why do so many of our fans worry about other peoples’ money. The fee has to be paid at the end of the season so it will presumably go into the bank.
