West Ham are set to hit Dimi Payet with a £250k fine as the first stage of their punishment against the hero turned bad boy.

Two weeks wages is the maximum financial punishment that can be imposed under Professional Footballers Association rules and the Hammers will definitely hit the player to the max.

We were told today that a hefty fine will hit the player after he made it clear to the manager that he would never pull on a West Ham shirt again

Payet has been unhappy for weeks with numerous former players and site followers telling ClaretandHugh that his body language and attitude is completely wrong . Sadly the player has managed to prove them all right.

The simple truth is that the midfielder wants to move back to Marseilles -a  club he never truly wanted to leave in the first place.

The French club has offered £20 million but the Hammers are not interested in it and will have to make their mind up on whether they maximise their asset with in the January window or let the player sweat it out with the under 23s until the summer.

You can give your view at https://www.claretandhugh.info/poll-should-payet-be-sold/ in a new ClaretandHugh poll.

Has Payet actually handed in a transfer request…then we will know whether its about money or if he actually wants to return to Marseille

    • nellythehammer says:

I think saying you want to leave and you will not play for the team constitutes as a transfer request…….

      • Radai Lama..Out of contract & available says:

Lol Nelly, yeah i think its closest thing you can get to a transfer request apart from his grubby agents letter confirming it 😁

  • Just Like My Dreams says:

Make him train with the youth team, name him each and every match day squad until the end of the season. Each time he refuses to play fine him two weeks wages.

My guess is he will soon start to play, either that or we’ll end up with £4.25M in fines from him before we sell him for £30M+ in the summer!

  • ARH says:

So he decides to play, puts in no effort and costs us games? How does thar benefit us?

  • Ray1962 says:

this may have been asked before but if a player has downed tools as such as this describes to. Are we able to hold back wages under his contract? i have heard that we are going to fine him 2 weeks wages but is that all west ham can do? is 2 weeks and thats it he still gets paid after that even though he is as reported refusing to play for west ham surly under those conditions wages has to stop

  • ARH says:

Good question! If that’s the case I need to revise my contracts!!!

  • Bobby1954 says:

Show the rest of the squad how important they are, AND NOT HAVING PAYET SHOWING OFF AND NOT PUTTING IN A DECENT SHIFT can only be a good thing. CONSTANTLY SAYING HOW GREAT HE WAS, MUST BE P****** THE OTHER PLAYERS OFF BIG TIME!!! GET HIM OUT!!! NO ROOM FOR BIG HEADS!!!

  • GW says:

Been reading all day who’s to blame by some of our high brow intellects!! Is it the board or Slav or Muriel the tea lady? No it’s that backstabbing little French **** who’s royally screwed us no-one else 🙂

  • northern hammer 1972 says:

Put him on the bench for every game with no intention of playing him. Let him squirm on there all game. If he refuses then he must be in breach of contract so no wages will need to be paid !!

    • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Sounds like a good idea 1972, all this claptrap about him never wanting to leave Marseilles, another person he stabbed in the back Bielsa said at the time they must keep him, the club didn’t want to sell him, he said at first he was staying with them then did a quick u turn and was one of the earliest signings of last season…

  • winslow says:

Anyone know if a club can sue a player for breach of contract for this behaviour?…

    • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

That team in Russia did with Lassana Diarra they stopped him playing for anyone else, must be something about Marseille players…

  • Pop Pop Pop Robson says:

put him in the Hammerettes. Half time would be fun.

  • munchie63 says:

he’s a sly one thats for sure. He;s tried this in the past.
100% he’s been tapped up while he was given time off by West Ham to return to France.
He was happy to sign a new 5 yr deal last Feb at 125k a week.
He hasnt handed in a transfer request though – he isnt that stupid. If the club sell a non transfer-listed player, the player is entitled to 10% of any fee, If he hands in a request that drops to 5%. If we accept 20 mill he will pocket 2 Million. Greedy sod wont give that up. As for homesick – A £10 says if Chelsea or a Chinese club offfer 200k a week he’ll suddenyl feel at home
