Randolph: Immense – awesome with at least four outstanding saves.  Had he not continually kicked long he’d have had a ten 9

Kouyate: No nonsense defending throughout and kept it tight down the right 7

Collins: Some fabulous blocks and looked as solid as it gets. Great performance 8

Ogbonna: Great all afternoon. Some fine interventions and no nonsense Row Z stuff when required 8

Cresswell: Defended for his life brilliantly and our latest international did really well getting forward 8

Noble: Off the pace, some shoddy passing and a free kick which almost led to a goal. Poor 4

Obiang: Another outstanding performance – great passing and always looking for the killer ball. 8

Antonio: Some strong running, kept their defenders occupied and left nothing out there 6

Lanzini: Never got involved and was finally subbed 4

Payet: Fabulous free kick for the opener and forever trying the unusual and winning free kicks 7

Sakho: We’re holding our breath it wasn’t a serious injury which saw him subbed because the striker was outstanding until then. Fine header for goal and fabulous unselfish running 8

SUBS

Fletcher: Showed great poise, held the ball up well and had a chance well saved by De Gea. Very promising

Ayew: Best performance in a Hammers short ith some clever flicks which opened United up and tracked back throughout 7

Feghouli: Came on with about 50 seconds left NO RATING

Fair ratings. Thought Antonio was worth a 7. Noble was shockingly bad, unlike him to have such a poor game. Only a 2 from me.

Fletcher continues to look very promising.

For all the stick Sakho gets and some of that is justified, again he still finds the back of the net. Nice to finally have a striker score for us this season.

But you know what, for once I have to say that the Referee actually had a good game and got most things right for both sides.

By the way, the last time we scored 2 goals at Old Trafford was August 1986. (28 games played at Old Trafford) Only 1 today so that trend still continues, but that’s OK because we will put an end to that run in the Cup up there in midweek. Fingers and IRONS Crossed.

    An overall fair assessment.
I would have given Collins one less at 7 and Kouyate one more at 8.
Lanzini played better in the second half after a none existent first half so maybe a 5 for him, but Noble continued his shocker apart from near the end so would be lucky to get a 4.
Interesting team selection for the mid week match, I presume Adrian in goal with Reid for Collins and Zaza up front (or can Fletcher get a start?). Fernandes for Noble is my call.

Definate signs that its coming together at last for the Hammers.Obviously helps when we have a natural goalscorer on the pitch.A couple of shrewd signings in January and get rid of some of the loanees who are just not up to premiership standard and I really think we could have a good 2nd half of the season.Need to offer Sakho an improved contract as he will score goals.

  • oldiron says:

Noble was bloody useless, get rid Slaven take the Captaincy away from him and start playing someone with more mobility and forward sight and who can pass to a teamate in front of him.
Noble fast becoming another Nolan and we all know what happened when he kept being picked by Sam.

Please don’t play him again this year , we have several players who are much, much better and who deserve a chance to play and influence the game.

COYI lets do it on Wednesday, up for the Cup.

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

I think Lanzini is more effective playing in Noble’s position, against Utd on Wednesday he should start there Noble should be on the bench, play Fletcher and Sakho up top if Sakho is fit.

  • GW says:

What a surprise Nobes was poor again but we must keep picking him Kevin eh ? 🙂

  • Alfie says:

Noble, thats being generous giving him a 4…i have always had a lot of time for him but this season he has been pants!!

  • JimmyJazz says:

Not sure how Collins gets an 8. I’d give him a 5. He was at fault for the man utd goal and had to be bailed out by kouyate with a terrible header back to the keeper that he was lucky wasn’t punished. They are the same sort of mistakes that Collins was making at the start of the season. Player ratings are so fickle because if Collins mistake had been punished and we’d lost you’d be giving him a much lower score.

  • englandsnumber6 says:

starting a game with Noble is like going down to 10 men from minute 1. he had a fair season last year but has been shocking for about 5 seasons prior. go and play in the championship and see out your career.

  • bubbles says:

Noble is awful … He has no natural talent and now that his legs have ” gone ” he is a liability . He cannot run , pass forward, tackle , head the ball , mark a player as he is too slow and is there a worse free kick taker in the league ? He has a ridiculous £5m contract to keep him warm on the bench . He must not start another league game .
