Leroy wants Payet exiled to the stands

|

I’m not surprised to hear Dimitri Payet’s doesn’t want to play for us – that’s been obvious to me all season but it’s a disgrace.

Without our great club nobody would have known about the geezer and to have used us and now abused us is a shocking, shocking, thing.

Slaven Bilic has made it clear that the club will not be selling him.

WELL NOW THEY HAVE TO STICK BY THAT AND IF NECESSARY LET HIM SIT IN THE STANDS FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD.

We might get £25 million for a 29 year old but what’s that gonna buy you these days – very very little and to let him walk away on his own terms sends out the worst possible message to the squad.

They say loyalty has gone from football – well it shouldn’t have done and I feel let down and disgusted by Payet. He needs to be taught a lesson.

In the stands for you mate…make him sweat it out Slav!

To be honest he has been very poor all season and adopting the attitude and body language of a sulky kid which is precisely the thing West Ham don’t need at all in their current position.

Now this news may finally lance the boil that has been festering behind the scenes and at last the other players can step up and do their thing.

It looks like a blessing in disguise to me and that Slav should come out and openly break the news is a great thing and doing the right thing by the fans.

I wouldn’t let him sit in the stands. Make him train with the kids & if he refuses fine him wages until he does.

  • Radai Lama..Out of contract & available says:

We might only get £25mill for him but i bet that cash can get a player who has a bit of fight & spirit who actually wants to be on the pitch & play for us.Give me a player like Snodgrass any day over a chubby little frog who minces about sulking for 90 mins..
All we have at the moment is a Pillsbury dough boy with attitude 😬😁

  • WHUPete says:

Spot on mate. It’s obvious there’s been issues in the dressing room and now we know for certain who the culprit is not that anyone’s probably surprised, it’s been plain to see he’s not happy by his attitude on the pitch. Any offers over 40 mil get rid asap but like you say anything like 20-25 mil keep him in the stands to fester and get even fatter then see if he’d get into the French squad again. Feel sorry for Bilic he’s put a lot of faith in him he must feel totally humiliated.
Anyway he’s old news now let’s move on! COYI ⚒⚒⚒⚒

  • Hammerfish69 says:

Where is loyalty these days?. Was nothing until West Ham bought him. Does he not think he owes us until at least the end of this season. At his age he cannot afford to rot in the reserves……………Let him rot in the reserves!!

  • essexclarets says:

What kind of message does that send to the youngster? Want to move… refuse to play! Great role model for them

  • Richie says:

This isn’t what we need right now. I have no idea what has gone on but I would have pleaded with him to play and give 100% until the end of the season and then have a gentlemans agreement to sell him.

I am as shocked as anyone but this will galvanise the opposition on Saturday and we have a couple of massive games coming up.

If we were coasting along I would agree to putting him in the stands and making an example of him. Can we do that in our current situation? If we got 25-30m could we then not go out and get Berahino, Hogan and Snodgrass and actually be a better TEAM.

The board have some massive decisions to make. I really don’t think we can get relegated and if we do we wont get hardly anything for him in the summer.

    • essexclarets says:

Plead with him to stay…?? Gentleman’s agreement he can leave in the summer..?? Play someone who does want to play, he will never give his all anymore. If my g’kids act like a spoilt brat, i treat them as such. I never give into them.

  • PopRobson says:

I don’t want to see him anywhere near the team sheet on Saturday. Would be an insult to the rest of the lads. Let’s get right behind the rest of them on Saturday. COYI

  • Radai Lama..Out of contract & available says:

He aint going to play.Bilic said he wont play or train with the team until he changes his attitude.
Well that aint going to happen he will just sulk even more. The good thing though he can sulk back in France away from the other players 😁

  • Mr Buddy Lurve says:

Agree with most, but personally, I want the club to do right by the club, and not by Payet or any other individual. For me, that means selling him to the highest bidder – yes we helped him become worth that money, and we should rightfully profit from it. If Marseille want him back for €40m, then by all means take him.

What that says to the youngsters, is that a) West Ham can make you great if you put the effort in and b) if you later want to leave, as long as it’s on our terms, you can go – nobody is bigger than the club.

Finally, don’t forget that at £125k per week, getting rid would free up a huge amount of space on the wage bill, which enables us to bring in quality British players who have fighting spirit.

  • sleepswithdafishes says:

Keeping him and not playing him is nose-cutting-face-spiting-stuff.
Would rather see him sold for money we can use.
Agree it could be made into a blessing in disguise, but only if we sell him ( to a foreign team ).

    • sleepswithdafishes says:

Of course it could be that we are bluffing about keeping him, to get the best money for him.

  • bubbles says:

Let him rot in the stands . Do not let him train to keep fit . Spoilt brat. I don’t buy the loyalty ticket because in this day and age it is a thing of the past . Money is king . If the owners had got the transfers right in the summer I doubt that we would now be in this position .Now they are ****ing around again playing silly games . We will get players who think we are cheap skates which we are .

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Don’t sell him until the price is right, he is the most creative player in Europe according to the OPTA stats, 29 doesn’t mean anything to the big clubs who want marquee signings, better still sell him to China where he can be forgotten again.

  • Radai Lama..Out of contract & available says:

He will be sold im sure.Maybe with him out of the frame not being Mr.Big in the team the other lads might become more united & play as a team with no real egos about 😉

  • Hammerintheblood says:

Damn shame really …..the club’s in disarray atm…the fans are not happy the squad is weak and the board keep buying **** players…..tbh I don’t blame him with all the crap we keep buying and the pastings we’ve been getting recently…by the gooners and mancs….
I man honest hammers fan and am so disappointed at our problems on and off the pitch.
If the board kept their promises on decent getting decent players and not bargain basement crap the he wouldn’t have to put us in this position…
Sell him and what we can for him……but our season is falling apart big time….I won’t be surprised if we get dragged back in the relegation battle…..I think we’re doomed…urghh.

  • IronMan says:

Leroy, as ever, you are spot on. Ask not what I can do for West Ham… ungrateful nobody. He has no right to wear the shirt and should never play for West Ham again. For me, he now enters the list with Ince, Defoe & Reocoker. Disrespectful and a disgrace. He should be ashamed… but he wont be.

  • aol says:

It would be nice if we acted with a bit of class for a change, instead of washing our dirty laundry in public yet again. Why not thank him for his service, shake hands and let him go for the best deal possible. Then use the money to buy players who actually want to play for us. That’s what other clubs do, even the so-called big clubs.
Unfortunately, if we do cash in I expect we’ll take whatever we get then throw it at Joe Hart.

    • Colin Irons says:

I totallt disagree about dirty washing in public. What the hell do you want?? to be lied to for weeks that he is only carrying a knock?
As for shaking his hand you are kidding are you not.He has a massive contract with years to run but lets shake his hand & give the moody soul what he wants.
      Poor Payet!!!

      • aol says:

There’s the middle ground where we accept a reasonable offer and move on. Which is what we’ll do anyway. We’ve a shiny new stadium, a squad full of internationals and promising youngsters and yet somehow we’re still a laughing stock.

  • djsteves says:

China all the way. If they’re willing to pay £60m for Oscar then it’s not beyond reason to ask for £80m for Payet. If chairmen were already willing to spend £20m+ then that gives Slav £100m+ to rebuild. I’d be looking at bringing in some potential world class youngsters – hungry to learn but capable enough to make an impact now

  • cas_blue says:

Bottom line is he only wants Marseille. I can’t see him going to China. He has a history of doing this and it’s had a profound effect at the club. Banish him from the club and stop his pay.

  • Paul says:

Why did he sign a 5 year contract? Was he promised that West Ham would bring in 2 or 3 top players and compete for honors? We lost 5-0 last game and look likely to sign a striker for 15 Mill from the Champ league. I guess he feels the board deceived and lied to him.
That said he should have waited till the end of the season and then asked to leave.
Has he also been let down by the players around him on the pitch who have not reached the level technically at least of last year?
He has created almost the most chances in the premiership but he sees on twitter fans calling him lazy and to be dropped because we are struggling.
Not condoning what he has done but trying to get a view from his perspective.

  • mooro66uk says:

Can’t believe some of our so called fans. Actually trying to make excuses for the traitorous fat c###. And to say “shake his hand and thank him”. Is that guy for real? Shake his f###ing neck more like. Also some are half agreeing with him just so they can pop off the board and the club in general, again. It’s certain fans non stop griping on social media and continually slagging their club off that is making us a laughing stock among other fans.
