David Moyes is hoping that Vldi Coufal is back to full match fitness following his run outs in the international break

The right back was involved in two games for the Czech Republic playing for 71 minutes in the win over Poland and the full 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw against Moldova.

There were worries inside the Hammers when he was called up but Moyes is now hoping it was a blessing in disguise.

He told reporters “If we had Man City on the Saturday that the game was called off, he would have been fit.

He was very close to fitness just before the break so hopefully the two games [for Czech Republic] have got him back up to match speed, that’s my hope.

He’s trained today, I’ll have a look tomorrow and see how he’s feeling. He’s not said anything about his foot yet so in a way it’s worked for us, him having those two games. ”

Lukasz Fabianski is back in training  but Moyes confirmed he wasn’t wearing a mask he was pictured in at Rush Green.

He said: “He is  back training so I will have a look at it in the next day or two. Alphonse has played well so I have good competition which I want. We have a lot of games coming up and we are going to need them.”
