Quina makes it to the final

|

quinaRed hot Hammers prospect Domingos Quina helped push Portugal U19s reach the final of the U19 European Championship with a 1-0 victory over the Netherlands in Georgia today.

The 17-year-old played the 90 minutes as last year’s U17 European Championship winners – maintained their fine form in the tournament.

Portugal took seven points from the group fixtures against Georgia, Portugal and Sweden and the Dutch were very much second best with Benfica’s Gedson Fernandes notching a first half winner.

With Nathan Trott’s England playing Czech Republic in the other semi-final later  Quina could be involved in a Hammers head-to-head in the final.

Quina said: “It was.a good game against the Netherlands, and a great win for us – even if we made it harder for ourselves than we should have done.

“We should have scored more goals on the day but that’s football. We’re into the final and we’re ready and focused for it.”
