Report: Fee agreed for Tore

|

RR ModerateWest Ham has reached a 13 million Euro (£10.5m) agreement with Besiktas to sign Gokhan Tore, according to the Turkish media.

Besiktas value the player between £13 and £15 million (16-18 million Euros) but could be forced to take far less as they look to meet financial fair play sanctions by UEFA after being previous fined. In 2015 they made an agreement to keep their losses under 10 million Euros this coming season and financial year.

Turkish publication FutbolArena, claim that both clubs have now agreed a £10.6 million transfer fee for the 24-year-old. The move would see Tore reunite with his former manager Slaven Bilic. The report claims that the Tore deal will become official next week.

The in-form midfielder has three years left on his contract in Turkey and has just completed a successful domestic campaign after Besiktas lifted their first Turkish league title in seven years. Tore notched six goals and nine assists in 35 games in 2015-16 in all competitions, playing on both the left and right-hand side of midfield.

The amount of times i have read this over the past 2 weeks only for the next site to say the opposite. Would this be our top target or a 2nd striker?

  • He is a winger so not our top target and certainly not a 20+ goal scorer

I know Slav loves attacking play and I’m all for it, but surely this transfer means that were looking to continue playing Antonio at RB. We can’t have Payet Lanzini Antonio Feghouli and tore competing for 3 spaces.
As good as tore is, I don’t see the point as Antonio was scoring for fun playing as a winger and gave us good balance alongside payet and lanzinis craft. As I said I’m all for attacking play but Antonio isn’t cut out at RB as we’ve seen with his positional sense.
