Sakho for Sunderland? The fans react

|

Diafra Sakho has today been linked with a move to the north east where he would join Sam Allardyce’s Sunderland.

This follows news that the Irons have bid £4 million for Danish striker Martin Braithwaite and the claim that ‘Sak’ will be surplus to requirements as a result.

ClaretandHugh Facebook group members @ https://www.facebook.com/groups/363174467150521/ have been reacting to the suggestion.

sakhoHere’s some random comments.

O I hope he stays and fights for his place, even if a bigger name is brought in – as long as he gets his head in the right place.

He doesn’t need to fight, he’s one of the first on the sheet! We wouldn’t have been able to achieve what we have without him. It would be suicide to think you could replace him!
O Please do not sell him.

O Sakho has been my no.1 striker in all the time I’ve been supporting the club and he still has a big role to play in the new era that Slav has started with the club.

O With his head in the right place and with the right management of his personality he can easily be a 20 goal a season man. I believe he is a better all round player than Carroll. Not knocking Carroll after a very good season (for him in a WHU Shirt) but Sakho in my opinion can be better utilised. I’d still love a top proven striker to be signed but not at the expense of Sakho. COYI.

O Well said, totally agree

Bilic is big on loyalty and hard work. If Sakho did throw his toys out of his pram earlier this season, he still won’t have made up the trust he’s lost.
At this best he is tireless and drags defences all over the place, creating space for others. Yet he is still not a top quality finisher. I was at the Stoke game and he fluffed his lines several times. If we can replace him with a more clinical goal merchant – I would accept him moving on.

He works hard and gives opposing defences all sorts of problems but he seemed a little off after his tantrum, lets see what happens in the summer, on the subject of transfers KUMB were reporting that according to Turkish sources the Tore deal is done at £13.3 mil and will be announced on Wednesday, hope that is true.

Sak doesn’t have to go anywhere. Sell Carroll to his father. 😉

Markro I aint having a pop here but how do you know that he hasn’t won back Slavs trust.Im sure I saw Bilic hugging him & giving him one of his trademark kisses at a match near the end of the season. They seemed pretty loved up then lol.I agree with what you say about him not being particularly clinic,he does lack composure at times.Mind you he is better than some of the suggestions to play Antonio as a striker I have read.Has no one ever seen him one on one with a keeper,it is like he has 100 budgies flying round in his head before he hits the ball.Possibly the daftest idea of the summer thus far.

I can only speak for myself but I hope Sakho stays and Carroll leaves. From speaking to my west ham pals they all feel the same. The one disappointment from a terrific season was the persistence with Carroll over Sakho and Valencia. S&V have incredible potential as a front two and I just cant work it out anymore with starting Carroll. Carroll is a plan B all day long. Sakho is absolute class.

Give the fat turd nothing !
Sakho must stay , carol ain’t going nowhere IMO , but Valencia is the one who probably is out the door ! Then again wot do we know, let Bilic sort it !! Its a big call . But Ffs give the hippo nuffin ! It will come back to haunt us ? Whoever we let go , send em over the water ?.

I would like to see sakho stay & enner go. To bring in a couple of new strikers at least one I would have thought needs to go. AC gives you a back up plan (if all else fails pump high balls in to him). All looks so easy inside my head 😀

  • bubs says:

Sak is still our number 1 striker until we sign someone better,
AC won’t go to Hippo unless he moves to Newcastle, his lady will not want to move up there,
Still think at £15 million he is a good impact sub,and against some bad defenders a good starter, but does not blend well with are new style

I always thought we played our best football with Sakho creating gaps and knocking in the occasional goal. But his body language and expressions make me think he’s not happy for whatever reason and he’ll be prone to throwing wobblies and underperformance so I’d let him go unless he accepts his role and Slav’s decisions

  • whambam says:

If he does go and then scores for them, wouldn’t it be great if he accidentally did the crossed hammers celebration
