Summer signing linked with shock exit

|

Reports in Italy are linking Gianluca Scamacca with a shock exit from West Ham.

The Irons paid over £35m to sign the striker from Sassuolo although it’s fair to argue that he hasn’t quite lived up to the fee just yet.

Scamacca has scored twice in 13 games in the Premier League but has also netted four times in the Europa Conference League.

However, the 23-year-old is now being touted as a potential target for Napoli.

Journalist Ciro Venerato, per AreaNapoli, reports that Scamacca has been identified as a potential replacement for Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen has scored nine goals in 11 Serie A games this season and is subsequently attracting interest from across Europe.

He would cost in excess of £80m to sign, and as a result, Napoli are said to be looking at potential alternatives.

Scamacca is put forward as one of those players, along with Chelsea striker Armando Broja.

The Irons aren’t going to be at all interested unless the fee is eye-bulging, but expect this one to run until the summer.

I reckon any club in Italy would love Scammaca but I doubt they could afford him.

I know there’s gonna be a few people reading this that will strongly disagree but i think if we can get our money back for him or even make a profit we should sell him if Moyes stays in the job. I can see it going exactly the same way as Haller with him getting frustrated with Moyes tactics and ending up disgruntled, then us selling him on the cheap like Haller. Its plain for anybody to see that the only type of striker that will succeed in Moyes tactical set up is a strong , quick mobile one in the same mould as Antonio … but with better finishing of course 😉 …. Only way i can see Scamacca doing well is if Moyes leaves .

Please , Scamacca has all the potential in the world , he will grow and grow for us . Ot would help if the team played him in . No striker in the world will score loads without the service . He will if he gets the service ! !

“Hasn’t lived up to the fee yet”. We could have Haaland up front but he wouldn’t score if we just kick it around the back four and then give the ball back to the opposition by hoofing it up the pitch.

There was a recent interview with Scamacca when he said the Premier league is a lot more intense and you do get little time on the ball. He said he was determined to succeed in the best league in the World so I am hopeful he can because he has a lot more variety to his play and goal scoring then Haller who was basically a poacher. This didn’t work here and would not have whoever he played for in our league as the work ethic is so strong.
