Supporters buying cheap fake shirts

|

Supporters are buying inferior replicas of Premier League football shirts as the cost of living crisis bites.

West Ham recently launched their 2022/2023 season home shirt retailing for £65 in the club store but copies of the shirt were already available for a fraction of that price on multiple websites available in the UK.

Websites such as SoccerLord.SE offer the latest West Ham home shirts for just £29 with free worldwide shipping for orders over £50.

This is less than the buy price of the club from Umbro therefore a counterfeit copy of the new football shirt.

Chinese website DHGATE.com is selling knock-off West Ham copies of the adult home 2022/2023 shirt for as little as £13 including shipping from China.

Some copies are better than others and often the quality and lettering are very suspect and clearly fake.

The Premier League and West Ham can do little about these copies as they remain outside UK jurisdiction.

In June 2020 West Ham renewed a deal with Umbro as they continue as the Hammers’ official technical partner, supply playing and training kits for their men’s, women’s, and youth teams, as well as provide leisurewear for players and supporters.

The financial details and terms have not been disclosed, but the previous contract, signed only in May 2019 and due to run until the end of the 2022/23 season, was reportedly worth £5 million per year. Umbro has been the club’s official kit supplier since the start of the 2015/16 season.

Ha ha, you can tell it’s obviously fake by the description “DHGATE.com is selling knock-off West Ham copies of the adult home 20222/2023 shirt”. Everyone knows it’s not year 20222 just yet! LOL

As for China, they don’t abide by any international law and order, copyright rules especially. They are a rogue state.

Totally agree, you buy fake, it will look fake and not supporting the club

Maybe the clubs should lower the exorbitant cost of the shirts, quality wise they should be about £25 a pop as they are fairly average, hopefully it drives the price down to make it affordable for the average fan.

I can understand anybody struggling financially but personally I’d hate to be making a rip off merchant rich rather than putting the money into the club. Ive heard someone before with the rediculous point of view that they don’t want to put their money into the pockets of gsb. I don’t think that’s how it works. The more revenue the club makes the more money there is available for signing new players. The better off West Ham are as a whole. That’s the way I look at it.
