The colossal cost of Irons loans deals!

|

mosesThe colossal cost of loans to West Ham can be revealed today as totalling a eye-watering £19m for this season.

As ClaretandHugh revealed last night (Tues), Carl Jenkinson is costing the Hammers a whopping  £4m this season made up of a £1.5m loan fee, £2m in wages plus £10,000 to Arsenal and £5,000 to Jenks per start.

The Victor  Moses loan is even more expensive with a £2.5m loan fee involved on top of £2m in wages.

Starting bonuses  could add another £1.5m if he starts every league game in which he is eligible to play. His loan deal could rise as high as £6m if he plays every game.

Alex Song commands a loan fee of £1.5m from Barcelona plus £4m in wages meaning a £5.5m total bill.

Manuel Lanzini is the cheapest of all the loans with a £2m loan fee to the parent club on top of  wages and add ons of around £1.5m.

Why do we always include wages and appearance fees when talking about the cost of loan deals? We’re happy to just say that West Ham paid £10m for Dimitri Payet (yes, we’ve got Payet, Dimitri Payet..) without mentioning his salary & add ons. Why are loans thought of differently?

We couldn’t afford to take a chance on paying a lot of money on these players after all what we spent on other players, it’s all good business to loan them, we need them, I really don’t think we should be creating negative issues, like I keep saying “let’s enjoy it and hope it lasts”

  • I suppose because they aren’t ours. There is a premium to pay for loans.

Gone are the days where you just paid the wages or a percentage of the wages

They are worth every penny we pay them!

Carl Jenkinson – I’m not his biggest fan but he brings continuity to our defense from last season. It gives the defense another season to settle before we buy ourselves the last piece of the puzzle at the back. We can buy way cheaper young quality FB’s in europe like Nélson Semedo, Timothy Castagne or a local guy like Jackson Robertson from Hull.

Victor Moses – Pure class and it allows Antonio to find his feet. I’ve got high hopes for Antonio and believe its the right move not to throw him in at the deep end.

Alex Song – We all know he is class when fit. He will definitely add composure when he returns and we won’t be conceding the silly goals at the back with him there.

Manuel Lanzini – It was the safe option to “trial before buy”. He looks like a 20m+ player at the moment. Having now the option to buy makes his loan fee look like peanuts.

All in all, it’s been exceptional business during the transfer window!

Don’t care the fans pay a lot of money to watch and buy merchandise and this is the first year in 5 that they are getting back a n entertaining game to watch,
How much are we getting for Burke and Poyet because I would have been happy with both of them and not 2 of our loans
Not Lanzini he must become a full time player,
