West Ham United are reportedly eyeing a move for Vitoria de Guimaraes forward Jota Silva, with a potential bargain deal available this summer, according to The Express.

The 24-year-old Portuguese winger has impressed this season, scoring 15 goals and assisting seven more in all competitions. His £17 million release clause drops significantly due to his contract expiring next year, making him a potential steal at around £10 million.

West Ham‘s failed January transfer window highlighted their need for attacking reinforcements. The departures of Benrahma and Fornals, coupled with Cornet’s struggles under Moyes, have left the squad thin. A potential Paqueta exit to Manchester City further emphasises the need for attacking additions.

West Ham faces competition from Brighton, Fulham, and potentially Aston Villa (due to their owners’ stake in Vitoria) for Silva’s signature.

West Ham’s ongoing managerial search creates a challenge. The suitability of Silva under the yet-to-be-appointed manager remains a question. A swift decision on the managerial front is crucial to avoid missing out on Silva or other targets.

If West Ham’s recruitment team believes Silva can adapt to the Premier League, his price tag presents a good value proposition. However, decisive action is required to secure him before other clubs step up their interest.

We face a crucial summer transfer window. Resolving the managerial situation and identifying targets like Silva is essential to address our deficiencies and be able to properly compete next season
