Young Jack’s January window verdict

|

Jack SJack Sullivan – sounding more like his Dad than his Dad – has given a pretty strong indication there is unlikely to be any January signings.

ClaretandHugh revealed from its own sources yesterday that this January could be the first ever when the two Davids fail to bring in players.

The arrival of the deadline day signings meant that the Hammers ended the summer with every player they had sought, spending around £10 million more than originally planned.

And asked on Twitter whether there was any likelihood of more arrivals Jack gave the sort of answer Dad would have offered.

In respnse to a follower’s question he said: “We are always looking for new players! Yet you rarely get a good deal in January. You will have to wait and see.”

Good answer but in de-coded form it means: “Probably not injuries permitting.”

However, the squad could certainly do with another right back and with the possibility of Joey O’Brien, James Collins or both heading for the north east, the possibility remains we might see a new face.

I dont think were i need of a right back really.. Jenks will come good & Tonks is a great option, If ginge does leave we have 3 great young players to fill the void

Id tend to agree with staying as we are until next summer unless we have a major injury problem . weve signed so many new player in the last 2 summers its time for some stability

I would be surprised if we transfer a a few if we then didn’t sign at least one loan player. It is underestimated by chairmen the difference that having some new blood in the team competing for places has on the team. If you can sign at least one quality player it can give the rest of teh team a lift.
