Angry Moyes last ditch bid to save Hammers career

|

David Moyes is facing a crucial game tomorrow at Selhurst Park.

Labelling the fixture as a ‘must-win’ might seem sensationalistic with a sprinkling of clickbait, but I truly believe it is. In many respects, West Ham are looking at their last opportunity to qualify for Europe this season, though we are reliant on others failings too.

West Ham, currently eighth, still have to play Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Liverpool, Luton, and Manchester City. The Chelsea game feels particularly significant, but only if Moyes can secure wins against Palace, Luton, and possibly pull off a surprise result against one of the title chasers too.

It’s been an amazing experience chasing European football for the past few seasons, and I’m grateful to Moyes for that. However, with a new rebuild on the horizon and Tim Steidten in place as director of football, it feels like the end of an era.

The rhetoric from Moyes and his allies in the mainstream media also seems to have been ramped up to eleven over the past week. The messaging of ‘be careful what you wish for’ towards West Ham fans had certainly intensified in the build-up to the Europa League quarter-final. The cacophony of noise was so loud and with so many individuals saying the same thing that it seemed more than just coincidence.

Moyes has come out fighting by justifying his Hammers tenure

Dead man walking?

It felt like the propaganda of a man who knows he’s on the way out and was trying to justify his CV. Whilst Moyes has never been the most canny of media operators, he would often offer at least faint or damning praise to West Ham fans. However, during his last two media briefings, he’s been more bullish and in no mood to placate supporters.

In short, I believe he’s past caring, and it’s something I’ve seen before. Roy Hodgson for England, Kenny Dalglish’s second stint at Liverpool, and Nigel Pearson at Leicester all had the look of angry, broken men before they departed.

Moyes can turn it around, though. Were he to qualify for Europe again, then David Sullivan would be placed in a very difficult position. It’s going to be tough, though, and the Hammers need to start with a tricky game at Selhurst Park.

Far too late . Well past his sell by date . He must go whatever the result …and now ,not end of the season . Give the new guy a chance to bed in and see what needs to be done with the squad to fulfil its great potential .

If by some miracle we do qualify for Europe it will be inspite of Moyes not because of him. He should have sacked a long time ago. With the resources at his disposal he has done terribly and contrary to excepted wisdom has underperformed. He feels the club and the fans don’t deserve him… on that, I agree.

The season is 100% over ..no chance of Europe this year and the blame is 100% moyes fault for not onky not buying anyone in January but he actually weakened the squad by selling Benni and fornals who I rate…THAT IS JUST UNBELIEVABLE IN ITSELF……MOANING HIMSELF THAT HE HAD NO LEFT SIDED PLSYERS , DIDN’T BUY ANYONE…BUT THEN AND WENT AND SOLD 2 PLAYERS THAT CAN PLAY ON THE LEFT 😂😂WITH ALL THE GSMES WE HAS ..ITS JUST UTTERLY UNBELIEVABLE…the blokes an idiot…and can certainly not tske us any further…..go and dither somewhere else ffs

Goodbye Moyes, I won’t miss you and your so called defensive proficiency that doesn’t seem to transfer to the pitch and leaves us with one of the worst defensive records in the Prem. If we concede against Palace tomorrow that will be the worst run of note keeping a blank sheet since 2012. Moyesball = leaky defence,20% possession and non consistency. Add to this his mistrust of not buying players without premiership experience leaves us with one of the oldest squads in the league so once again a rebuild is needed.
Good riddance Moyes and leave Stiedten to do his job of recruiting a manager with vision and adding youth to some of the excellent players we currently have. Just like he did at Bayer Levenkausen.

Moyes will walk away with his 5 million. for a poor year’s work littered with many mistakes . laughing all the. way to the bank .. while we. are left watching. the club needing to rebuild a decimated squad. No Mr Moyes. enjoy your winnings ,paid for by the loyal club fans . who could only. dream. of. enjoying a fraction of your annual gain in their LIFE TIME.
No Mr Moyes ,under all. the circumstances. it is not easy to feel any. empathy for you..
