As West Ham United’s transfer window finally threatens to burst into life, a number of updates have come this afternoon confirming reports of players actively sought by the Hammers that we’ve carried in the last few days.
Nuno’s recruitment team are involved in trying to bring wingers, strikers and a midfielder into the club in what will see huge sighs of relief all round – only of course, once the Hammers start to get signatures on deals. We’ve sat and listened to too many ‘we tried’ transfer excuses over the years to be fully taken in by more ‘links’- yet several of the players for which West Ham are now actively in negotiations to buy are exciting players offering genuine improvement to the squad.
Yesterday’s Claret and Hugh article concerning our own source’s info has also been confirmed by insider ExWHUemployee this afternoon:
“West Ham have again been presented with the opportunity to sign Bamba Dieng the Senegalese international forward. The player is available on a free transfer having left L’Orient in the summer ”
Whether the Irons decide to proceed with the free transfer of Senegalese striker Dieng, 26, presumably depends on how successful they are with bids for other confirmed targets, Republic of Ireland’s Troy Parrot and Haiti’s Wilson Isidor. “Ex’ did confirm that West Ham have already submitted a loan with option bid for Sunderland’s Isidor, whilst his club are stated as preferring a straight sale.

Negotiations are described as ‘ongoing’.
This morning’s Claret and Hugh article stating Tottenham’s winger Manor Solomon is the club’s top target again is backed up by ‘Ex’:
“The club has a number of targets here, and it is thought that Manor Solomon is the top target from Spurs. The club is aware that this link, when I put it out before, raised some hostile reaction, but they are convinced he could do a very good job for West Ham in the Championship, and Spurs are keen to sell the player.”
And of course the negotiations with Celtic over Arne Engels appear to be ongoing. Finally, a transfer window to excite: Now Koppen has to prove his mettle and get at least three of these deals over the line to strengthen Nuno’s squad ahead of next weekend.
Bamba Dieng – Only knowing he has speed & played for FC Lorient & Senegal. He is quick though, the kind of player Taty, Orford/Fearon, could play through along the ground.
Running off the shoulder and tap-ins. As a tactical play sounds very interesting. I guess would need more play through the middle rather than Summerville & Bowen on the wings, like last season. Depends if manager will play to his strengths I suppose. Sounds interesting for sure if he is skillful enough.
Dieng sounds like a reasonable option for this Championship season, the more so because no transfer money would be involved (and that money can be spent elsewhere. Would he accept being part of Championship football?
I know these things take time, but many other championship clubs are buying players they want to support squads . WH media talk about numerous players resulting in zilch so far and season starts in just a,few days

Another bites the dust Sunderland are not selling Isidor.
Dieng and Traore are free agents don’t involve negotiations with other clubs.
Swap players: Todibo for C J Riley-Egan. Fullkrug for Cancellieri these should be easier (if true).
Not impressed with Koppen only players he’s suggesting are Celtic.
Where are all these wonder untapped players buy for £5m and then sell 12 months later for £30m.
New recruitment regime appear to be doing nothing exceptional if anything.
Prospective names continually appear but none are nearer arriving.
It’s like a game of chess just keep juggling them around matching club buy out.
Personally, I don’t mind the silence, most of the rumours are false, I’m sure we will get the required amount of new players in to try and push for a quick return to the premier league. Our club is different and our supporters are special and I’m sure in a few weeks time we’ll be seeing the goals going in which will see us achieving Premiership status. Who owns us, does it really matter, long as as they got the wonga and the football savvy to look after the West Ham faithful, protect and respect our clubs history, raise a glass
Excited about which signings Martin? Isador isn’t for sale, Disasi going to Palace, won’t pay for Engles so that leaves an old, bloated Frenchman or an over-rated Irishman coming in. Is Sully back in charge? Circus.
Disasi to Palace is just agent talk. They had opportunity to sign him earlier in the window and decided to pass. Of course the latest link to West Ham might also be agent talk to flush out interest from the Premier League or Serie A.
Don’t think Dieng is quite prem quality and not worth crazy wages, but given that he can also play on the left and Taty looks disinterested, probably a useful guy to have in the squad. We need to make one or two stick soon or we will struggle big time.
