Alvarez worry for Moyes

David Moyes is unhappy at a late return from international duty by Edson Alvarez. The Hammers boss revealed on talkSPORT than the Mexico international is unlikely to be back until late Thursday afternoon. The late return of the player is a worry for Moyes given lack of preparation ahead of the weekends Premier League fixture.

Alvarez has been in Texas where the team battled out a draw with Australia. The midfielder will only have one day to prepare for Saturday’s game against Manchester City which makes life very difficult for the manager.

Alvarez worry. The Mexican midfielder may not be able to train before the Hammers game against Manchester City.

Alvarez has been in outstanding form this season. To the point where Declan Rice has not been missed by the Hammers since his move for Arsenal.

And he made it clear life wouldn’t be easy when the question as to how difficult it will be for the club with so many players now fully fledged internationals:

He responded: Now they play all different days. We’ve got Edson Alvarez who we don’t think we’ll get him back until late Thursday afternoon. It’s the same for a lot of clubs.

We’ve just got to get on with it. But I’ve got to say, it will be really tough to get them back from those trips. It will be a challenge to get them ready to play on the Saturday.”

Perfect excuse for Moyes to put Soucek back in by the sound of it !

Logical reason in the circumstances, I think. Alvarez looks the better player but Soucek has started the season well too.
